Paul Steinke Announces Historic Bid For City Council

West Philly resident to run on community and economic development experience to become the first openly-LGBT person elected to citywide office.

Philadelphia, January 12, 2015—Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, Former Reading Terminal Market General Manager Paul Steinke will announce his campaign for Philadelphia City Council At-Large.

For the past 13 years, Steinke has managed operations of the Reading Terminal Market where he oversaw a 30% increase in visits and a $4 million renovation and expansion. Steinke also served as the first finance director for the Center City District and as the first executive director for the University City District.

Steinke, an economist by training, plans to make increased opportunity and growth for ALL of Philadelphia’s families the focus of his campaign. He lives in West Philadelphia with David Ade, his partner of nearly 20 years.
