Jobs & the Economy

Paul believes that the city must adopt a long-term strategy for economic development and job growth.

SteinkeRT

As a trained economist and the former general manager of the Reading Terminal Market, Paul oversaw a 30% increase in annual visitor traffic at the Philadelphia landmark. No one is more familiar with what it takes to create jobs and spur economic growth than Paul. He believes that the city must adopt a long-term strategy for economic development, job growth, and the equitable creation of opportunities for our citizens with the goal of reducing poverty and spreading prosperity across Philadelphia. A robust and growing tax base is the only way that we can afford the many services citizens rightfully expect from government, such as good schools, police and fire protection, parks and recreation, and clean and safe streets. Paul's 25 years of experience in economic and community development and small business growth make him uniquely qualified to shape tax policy, regulatory reform, and job growth strategies in order to position Philadelphia to build on its status as a world-class city.
